Book review of E-book Marketing Made Easy
By Andrea Chester
This e-book is jammed full of interesting, do-able marketing ideas to promote
your self-published books. In these wobbly economic times, more and more
of the burden of book production and promotion is falling back on the author.
Well, Rusty is armed and ready!
E-Book Marketing Made Easy is full of live links, Marvelous Marketing Tips, and
editorial pointers. It’s a companion volume to his recent publication,
Beyond the Bookstore: 101 (Other) Places to Sell Your Self-Published Book.
One of the most popular aspects of Rusty’s books is their practical, friendly
approach. He’s an often-published author, an editor, and a marketing
expert, so he knows what works. He has a colossal network of contacts, and
he shares them with a liberal hand. Here’s a taste of what you’ll find
in this book:
A large section of links to FREE listing sites, along with some pointers about
what you can include in your listings
Author’s sites, where you can have your own web page and links to your books,
articles, and such
A huge collection of book review sites, featuring reviews by request to the site
owner and a few post-your-own review places
Online auction links, and tips on selling through them
Links to some of the most professional writer’s sites on the Net, along with
information on how to use the sites
Sprinkled throughout the book, Marvelous Marketing Tips are innovative ideas on
promoting yourself and your writing. These include suggestions on getting
free advertising space, participating in message boards and writer’s groups,
and finding new markets for your work.
Finally, he includes an assortment of bite-size editorial/marketing helps.
These are little snatches of invaluable advice about re-cycling your material to
reach other markets, especially e-markets. For some of his readers, (like
me), the Web is a phenomenal tool, at once fascinating and bewildering.
It’s intimidating, and I get lost in it.
Rusty takes some of the mystery out of it. He compiles tons of research
and trial-and-error into an easy-to-use format. I just click on the link,
instead of wading through six billion hits on a gigantic search engine. I
know what I’ll find, and I know that it’s relevant. This book is vital
information for anyone serious about marketing his/her writing in the electronic
arena.
