I got an R from this agency shortly after the 30 days were up. Oh well. Another one off the list.

I queried through the form on 5/13. I got a request for a full the same day as JamieB. My MS is middle grade. Also, it isn't an exclusive. I made it clear on the online form that I had other fulls out. I figured there was no way he'd be interested... but he was.

I got an R six days after using the webform. At least it's not a black hole webform as so many appear to be.

I queried using the submission form on 6/10. I received a request for the full from John Cusick, Scott's assistant on 6/19. The email didn't mention anything about an exclusive, but I think that's because I said a few agents had partials on the submission form.

I'm just excited to finally get a request for a full! :) Any more clients out there want to share their experiences?

Just thought I'd let you know that I got the rejection on my full today. The email was nice and he gave me an idea of why he was passing, which is always a plus. Senora and Jamie you'll probably hear back soon if you haven't already. Good luck!

Thanks for the info REX. Sorry about the R. At least you got feedback as to why. Good luck with other agents!

Time to start the nail biting...

Received an R on my full via John Cusick today. Back to square one.

I think I'll just focus on my current WIP for a while.

Good luck to you Jamie.

After receiving a request, I sent my full on 11/23. I have not heard any response, which does not seem unusual given the other response times on this thread and the fact that my full was sent right at the start of the holiday season. (Probably I would expect to hear back in late January/ early February.)

Edit: Question answered. Thanks!

Brillig in the slithy toves...
Please understand that we expect work submitted for our consideration to be available for our representation, as we do not wish to compete with other agencies.

"do not wish to compete" is pretty clear. They expect exclusives.

Okay, fair enough. I suppose if I have not heard back within a reasonable amount of time (say by February 1st or something), I can always e-mail to ask for an update. Thanks for the advice.

hi folks. i am only stopping by b/c i was alerted to negative assertions against STNY, all due to an obsolete practice of changing clients messenger and copying expenses. to be clear about it: this was a highly standard practice before we all moved to electronic submissions.

our reputation for fair dealing is sterling. Preditors and Editors classifies us as "highly recommended", which hardly any agencies can boast.

oh! one exciting tidbit that this is be the best place in the world to share: we added a new, unpublished author yesterday. the ms came in the slush, i read it, and voila! the writer has considerable revising to do, but she also has an agent to guide her. i hope this is encouraging. it really is exciting for us when we discover talent.

Being an AAR member and having an excellent rating with P&E is a positive, definitely. Now, if I can only get you to read my material.....Sadly, I write adult fiction, not children's books. Such is life.
