Has anyone ever heard of Craigslist? Is it reliable?

I've heard of craigslist and have even responded to a couple. For the most part Infolist.com and mandy.com are much much better and have more reliable ad placers than that.

I'd say it depends what you're looking for there.

I responded to ads on Craigslist as well as moviebytes.com, and both agencies responded to my query with requests for the full script. I've also called back one, and need to call the other this week.
I did get a sketchy response from another Craigslist ad though, so always be wary.

Just an FYI, but when WGA members find "script wanted" and "script available" ads on Craigslist, we post them on a thread on the members-only bbs for mocking.

Well, I've certainly heard of craigslist . . . but I wouldn't put too much faith in any "scripts wanted" ads posted there.

Craigslist is great for finding apartments, cars, old stereos, questionable sexual partners and vintage records.
Scripts??? Not so much.
Up here, in San Francisco area where it started - its 'wide and deep' with ads. Some excellent paying jobs 'in the industry' IE Lucasfilm and Pixar regularly place ads for animators, programers, management personel and such.
Ton's of 'copy/credit/meal' only jobs for aspiring wannabe filmmakers.
Really, it depends on where you are and what you are looking for.

Bastards!
I gotten a lot of paying work from Craigslist. You just have to be careful and get paid (I ususally ask for 1/2) up front.

I've had both positive and negative experiences on Craigslist. I've sold a few things, I've bought a few things, I've dealt with good people and I've dealt with total creep-o psychopaths. Yes really. So you just have to be very careful, don't give away too much information as I did in the psychopaths case, and don't expect too much.
Sell realistically, buy knowing what you see might not be what you get, etc.
It's much more convenient than EBAY and their seller/buyer fees.
Anyone interested in a Massage chair, dining table or a dresser? Currently on sale by yours truely. :)
Ohhhhh you meant for scripts and such....lol....I thought you were looking for a dresser.

Seriously? Has anyone not heard of Craigslist?
I've gotten most of my actual jobs off craigslist. But most of my jobs have been as an editor. It's as reliable as the person you are responding to.
