Anyone Submitted to Virginia Quarterly Review?

Has anyone tried submitting to Virginia Quarterly Review (I know, I know--a long shot, to put it mildly!! :) ) ?

Anyway, they have this cool online submissions system where you can check to see if your poem's been read yet and how long it's been with them. Great, right?

However, my poem has been with them now for something like 45 days, but for the past 14 or 15 days, the tracker has said that they've only had it for a month. It's like it got stuck on one month.

Or..the system waits until you get to the second month (for the first month, it counted the days; i.e., your poem was submitted seven days ago, eight days ago, etc.)

Anyone else notice this?

Now it's switched over to two months, but it's only been 45 days.

Go figure.

I heard from the webmaster of VQR today. He said this is how the submissions system works. After a month or so, it rounds off. So it counts out the days until one month; then it approximates the number of months after that. :)

I've decided to pass on that idea to my electric company.
