Hey, I have spent all day researching the correct format for synopsis's. Some say 10 pages, other say 2. Some say 12 pt., others say 11. Some say Double space, other say single! Well What is it???? I am so confused. Does anyone know the proper standard for writing a synopsis??

That's where looking at each agent's guidelines will help (translation, you'll need more than one version). Some agent want a one page synopsis; others want five pages. You won't find many agents who will take a ten page one, if any.

Good source of information is this thread by Andrew Jameson: How to Write a Synopsis (http://www.absolutewrite.com/forums/showthread.php?t=84990)
If you want a critique of your synopsis (and query letter), come over to the share your work forum for queries. We charge extra for synopses and sometimes we don't play nice. But occasionally we get it right and help someone.

I have 10, 5, 2 and 1-page synopses ready to go. Plus a 1- and 2-paragraph for queries. It depends on the submission guidelines. Most I've encountered expected fewer than 5 pages.
I use 12-pt font -- it's easier to read. TNR font. Single-spaced.
