Calling all Melbourne writers. I know live amongst you!

We are now the world's second City of Literature so we surely have some writers here.

Wow, that was quick.

What part of Melbourne you from?

I'm from Ascot Vale. Maybe if we find enough of us near to each other we could meet once a month or something.

JJ, I am so glad you mentioned the Brisbane Writer's Festival. I am going to actually get there this year :)

I just got my new roster. I'm gonna miss it...noooooooooooooooo. I was supposed to meet up with my editor too. It was supposed to be her buy for dinner and drinks. I had a great time last year. Brilliant set-up.

Hello from South Yarra! :flag:

I'm up for a meet-up. Too bad the writer's fest has come and gone (and I didn't get a chance to see anything).

Hey!

I caught two sessions of the writer's festival in the first weekend, was ok, bought a copy of Nam Le's collection 'The Boat.' Left feeling inspired.

'The Boat' sold 1000 copies over the fest! I haven't read it yet.

I went to a publishers party and that's it. Last year I went to heaps- there were plenty of sessions on writing dark and disturbing, which is more up my alley than David Sedaris.

Yeah, not much dark and disturbing stuff this year, which would've been up my alley too.

Brisbane Writers Festival 2009 - featuring JJ Cooper and his new release Interrogated (Maybe I can set up my own little stall). See you all then.

Hey JJ- I would of loved to come! I'm up in QLD next week but I'm on the Sunshine Coast- gonna pat a tiger at Australia Zoo!

What sort of sessions are you doing at the fest? Is it your official launch?
