I got this from Becki McNeel this morning:

Quote: "Unfortunately, the storage warehouse where we have kept our books for the past year and a half was destroyed by a fire on Saturday.

Meanwhile, we did not have insurance on the books so we will not be reprinting any. We will be closing BB immediately. Therefore, you are released from your BB contract (for Island Life) and all author rights revert to you. I am so sorry."
Anybody out there want to publish a "Slightly used" novel that won a lot of praise but didn't get any advertising? http://www.ezboard.com/images/emoticons/smile.gif

Ouch. That just...sucks. (Eloquence isn't my strong suit at 3:30 AM) I feel your pain. On the bright side, you've got a finished novel, ready to submit. Hey, we have to claim victories where we can find them. Good luck. I hope your story finds a new home, quickly.

Bummer! So sorry, Willie. But, LJ's right. You're already well on your way with your novel. Start re-submitting and keep your chin up. When one door closes, another is bound to open. (In my experience, the second door is usually better than the first.) :)

Awh, Willie, I'm so sorry. Keep sending it out. Barclay isn't the only publisher. :)
