I did not, but I got my Publishers Weekly review yesterday and it was just what I was hoping for. I have guessed that my biggest problem with my novel is too much backstory, so my plan was to tear it apart and, more subtley, work that information in. The PW review reviewer was very positive and encouraging, but said that the story sometimes gets "muddied" in backstory.
So, overall, I'm glad I entered the contest. At least I know I'm on the right track. I would high;y recommend it to any first-time novelists who find themselves unpublished still by February of next year.
Back to my original question though: any semifinalists out there?
