So I followed up with the asst for development at Little Studio Films about a recent script of mine they requested. She stated that because I called, she would put it up in the pile for read this upcoming weekend. Kat went on to state they had currently 150 scripts logged in to read and review!!
I guess I won't keep my hopes up.

Yeah, there are hundreds of thousands of scripts trying to get in each year. Good news is you only have to focus on getting your script good enough to where it's in the top 5%. If you can get it there it doesn't matter so much how many scripts you're up against, as long as your script is one of the best.
Good luck, btw.

What it's worth, I always try to tell writers I know to ignore the "numbers" or "statistics." Believe me, when you write a script of surpassing quality, there is no competition, and it's a seller's market.

Hope your script gets read. A writer shouldn't pay attention to "numbers" and "statistics" but of course they're going to. The first thing that comes to mind when you hear that is, "on the list, what number am I", "what's my competition like", and "how in the world are they going to read my script when they have so many." All you can do is stay hopeful and keep at it.

Indeed. Focus only on what is resourceful, and what you can control.

Like the wise men say, if someone with any sense reads it and it's very good then you have nothing to worry about.
But dovetailing these two things is mighty tricky. 'Very good' means 'exactly what they're looking for.'
And that is like trying to find yourself a husband or wife. There are probably quite a few possibles out there, but chances are you'll only meet one, if you're lucky. And then you might get divorced. And have to pay alimony. ;)

Give up, stop posting here.
No, seriously, what are your alternatives? If you want to succeed then you have to keep stabbing at it, regardless of numbers, production whims, query hells or whatever else the world has to throw at you (including your own head!).
