What is a scriptment?

I've heard of an outline and a treatment but I've recently heard of something called a scriptment. What is this and what is its advantages over the other two?

A scriptment seems to be a combo of a treatment with scene headings and dialog insterted like a screenplay. I have no idea why someone would do it other than first working on a treatment and then filling it in with script elements a little at a time until a finished script has been done.

A agent or producer would never want to see one as far as I know.

It's my understanding that they're incomplete scripts, samples to give interested parties a taste of how the screenplay will develop, and to show willingness and ability to deliver. A pal of mine took a couple along to a pitch and they were given the same due consideration as his treatments and completed screenplays.

From what I can tell, a scriptment is just a treatment but with more dialogue. You can find James Cameron's "scriptment" for the Spider-Man movie here (http://scifiscripts.com/scripts/spidermanscriptment.txt).
