A web spider is a software program search engines, such as Google and Yahoo, send out to find links to list on their sites. (That's a very simplified explanation.)

Web content is what writers put out for web clients, such as Demand Studios, Suite 101, etc., to name a very few.

I'm moving this to the SEO/online writing board.

And then there's a "content web", LOL! When I build a content web, I start with a main - idea say Bats. I write about the order of bats (Chiroptera), then I write one on vampire bats, the little brown bat and fruit bats. Then I make sure all are interlinked so I take people from article to article. Now you have a content web.
