Recent updateS of AVG definitions have been informing the program that some I-Tunes files are a virus, specifically, in my case, the "Small.BOG" file. If you let AVG remove it, I-Tunes is broken, and will probably have to be re-installed.

You can go into the "Resident Shield" on the AVG User interface and click on the "Manage Exceptions" button. There you can set an exception telling AVG not to scan your ITunes folder. I wouldn't do it for long, but just long enough for the fixed definitions to come out from AVG. Although, at the moment, I haven't heard when that will be. (I'm betting sooner, rather than later.)

More info here. (http://mashable.com/2009/07/24/itunes-trojan-small-bog/)

I used to use AVG. I changed two weeks ago because my AVG just stopped working. It wouldn't scan, resident protection went all to heck... it didn't work at all. I uninstalled it and installed my new virus program and did a scan. AVG had a virus in it. My antivirus had a virus. I let avast do it's thing, deleted AVG from my computer completely and haven't had any trouble since.

AVG has problems with a few other programs too. I can't remember anything specific, but I had it try to delete a couple of things that shouldn't be deleted.

eh. I've used AVG for years, in a number of situations. This is the first time I've had it try to eliminate a necessary file. I've seen that happen with several AV programs over time, though.
