View Full Version : Where's the best place to do rev shares?

I decided to try out the rev share program at Demand Studios because of the five dollar incentive. I've written forty articles so far. This month has been really good for revenue. As of today I've made nearly $23 dollars.
This makes me think about doing more rev share articles. However revenues expire with Demand Studios in five years. I'm wondering if I should devote my time instead to another outlet such as eHow directly or Suite101.
Any thoughts? Suggestions? What articles have been your highest earners so far? I wrote one about biking and exercising that has yielded nearly eight dollars in two months.
Not bad at all.

Do they take down your article after five years? I'd never submit to some place where revenue 'expires'. At that point, they're just getting free money.

DS states rev share isn't forever. I just tried it on a lark. I'm pleased with the results so far.
My concern with eHow is that you apparently have to do some marketing for your articles to draw funds. I am a writer not a marketer.

I make the most money per article each month from Examiner, followed by DS, Suite101 and Helium (in that order, with Helium trailing WAY behind the rest). Examiner is currently earning me more than double the $/article rate that I am making at DS.
I definitely don't like the five year expiration at DS but I don't really worry about it. For all I know, all of these sites might disappear by that time. My highest earners on DS are about specific diet plans, followed by articles about credit and personal finance.

I like eHow. I've been with them for about a year. This month, I expect to earn just shy of $140, and that's with no article promotion--or even article writing, lol (been too busy to add content lately). I used to promote my eHow articles in the past, but found it to be a huge waste of time. My highest earner is a home improvement piece. It's earned a little over $150 so far.
One word of caution, though: Ehow can be hit-or-miss with earnings. A while ago, I created a second account there, hoping to hone in on the dieting niche. With my original account, this niche does pretty well in the earnings department, but my earnings ended up bombing with the second account. Go figure!
