This is from the game I am currently playing (war in the Pacific: Admiral's Edition). As you can see, the Dutch have scored a hit off North Borneo.

I know. You build a little Empire and Boom! They start sinking your cargo ships. By the Way, Tawi-Tawi is the US base on the upper right (just ENE of Borneo) under some clouds.

Actually, Tawi-Tawi is East of Borneo. But it is there under the clouds.

Borneo is an oil-rich island that the Japanese took from the Dutch in 1942. Now it is divided between Indonesia, Malaysia and Brunei.

Anyway, in War in the Pacific Admiral's edition, Borneo is right in the midst of the initial Japanese advance
