Mostly known for writing for TV's M*A*S*H, he also won a Tony for Broadway's A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum and was nominated for Oscars for his screenplays Oh, God! and Tootsie.

May we all as writers find the depth and understanding that Larry Gelbart showed in his writings and screenplays. A very tough standard and bar to achieve. And not really a bad one to aim for, when you think about it.

One of my favorite one liners is from Oh God! "You don't believe in miracles, what about the '69 Mets?"

RIP.
