Any of you know if one can profit with coming up with a concept for movie, without actually having to write out the script?
Perhaps as in just coming up with a synopsis, and selling that off?
Possible or not?
Im at done deal sales.com and see that some of the purchased screenplays say based on pitch, so Im just wondering.
I only wish there was more of me to write.

the only people who can make a deal from a pitch alone are well established industry folks with proven track records. they can pitch their ideas and then get paid to write it (ie - Adaptation or Bartin Fink). newbies can pitch but, they must back it up with a market-ready script.
however, Robert Kosberg will take pitches and work them if he thinks they'll work. he's got a website set up for that.

I've heard that the only pitch for End of Days was "Schwarzenegger vs. The Devil." No script, just four words.

Some people in the industry, as Nikee just said, will pitch an idea to a studio. If the studio buys it, THEN they write the script. What was just said about the End of Days goes along with what she said.
