Seriously. For two days in a row now, I've woken up dreaming about query letters. I'm pretty sure this is a sign that my life has been a bit excessively focused as of late.

I've dreamed about working on my WIP, including writing down scenic action. Course, by the time I wake up, I can't remember what my dream-self wrote. Never query letters (thank god!). They take up too much of my waking time as it is.

There was a roughly year-long stretch during which I dreamt that I was my MC every night. I miss that.

Haha, I wish. More like working on it trying to make it good enough to send out lol.
I'd love to dream about my MC. Once in a blue moon it happens, and it's always a blast.

Not getting to bed until really late so when my alarm goes off it wakes me up mid-sleep cycle. Not a good thing, really. ;)

Sounds more like nightmares to me! ;)

Last night I dreamed that Adam Richman of Man Vs. Food was my partner in investigating a haunted house. He kept hearing footsteps downstairs, and I kept having to go down with him to check it out. We didn't have any food with us, which sucked, considering Adam could have brought awesome take-out.
I think this dream is all about query letters.

But have any of them been well written? ;)
Seriously, I've worken up before with whole query letters in my head and had to scramble to write them down because they weren't actually bad. Better than my conscience attempts at writing them anyway. :D

My conscience never writes query letters. It's too busy castigating me for laughing at Eugene S's obscene take on Hail Mary in grade school. This version of the prayer made liberal use of that word blacbird employed so eloquently above. I think it was my ass-saving pass of the altered prayer to Alan B that got Alan ruled to within an inch of his life.
Mea maxima culpa. If this incident hadn't occurred, I could have put my conscience to better use.

I'm dreaming about query letters,
Just like the ones that you guys write,
Where the agents gather
To hear my blather
And never, ever, say "Not quite."
I'm dreaming about query letters,
With each synopsis that I've penned,
To run a spell check ere I send:
May we all find agents at the end.

I dreamed the Query Queen
sent the Query Fairy
to critque my Q's and Q's
"It's not bad," she said,
"If they publish it
your career'll be quite through."
"You can get it out of your system
then." She smiled and shrugged times a few.
"And find something better to do!"
:)

I had a dream about a query letter once, which was odd because I haven't finished anything and have not even thought about querying anything I was writing.
Nevertheless, in the dream I wrote a query, and the agent wrote back, saying simply. "I can see that we are not even living on the same planet."

I had a dream about one of my queries last night, too! How weird. I don't even know what agency it was, but basically the agent emailed back with a detailed critique and a note saying: "Watch your inbox tomorrow for something exciting!" And somehow I knew that it was going to be the agency's contract and an offer of representation... and I was so excited. Then I woke up. Sad day.

Lately I've been having dreams about my outstanding queries getting rejected...when I wake up I compulsively check my email (inbox, spam, AND trash) to make sure it wasn't real. I even had a dream about one of my outstanding fulls getting a really nasty rejection- from an agent who is sweet as can be in real life.
I need therapy.

I have editing dreams. It's quite frustrating to edit the same pages all night long.

I've been trying to get into my setting so much lately that I keep dreaming This Is What They Do in Eastern Europe dreams. Apparently my subconscious thinks dentists put your teeth in sideways over there. It made total sense at the time ;)
"Oh, I'll have to get that fixed when I'm back in the States"...

If I had query letter dreams, they would, in fact, be query letter nightmares.
