Does anybody know of any particular agencies looking for something like: A thriller novel about American and Iranian espionage in the Middle East. I've queried nearly 200 agencies and no bites, or little interest. I know its hard to publish, but I want to know if you guys have any ideas?

Hey Andrew, unfortunately I have no ideas about the specific agencies, but if you've queried that many agencies without success it might be time to rethink your query letter.

I'd suggest putting your query up in Share Your Work's query section (password: vista) to get some feedback on it. Like katiemac said, that could very easily be your problem.

Never assume it's your idea that's costing you. Always assume it's something in the presentation first.

You'd want to look for agents who represent thrillers. If you've tried 200 already, there's probably not many left. Odds are there's a problem with either the query or the book. Posting the query in Share Your Work can help you determine which it might be and you'll get feedback on how to fix it (if need be).

Also, a general idea like that is impossible to judge, because ten writers can use that same line and create ten different stories. It's the execution of that idea that matters. Your unique take on it and how you write it.
