Delete this comment?

Someone left a comment on one of my Examiner posts saying, "you are a fat buitch " I don't mind leaving it if it is a genuine comment and someone feels that way about me. But - if it is just a random comment that means nothing, I'd delete it. What do you think? I mostly ignore comments, but anything that is an insult that doesn't add to the convo would get wiped pretty quick.

I'd delete it immediately, no question. Insults aren't acceptable in real life or comments sections -- whether or not you are a butch or buitch or fat!

What is it with these a-holes anyway? I had to come back to this thread and see what we all told Nancy. I just found a comment with someone calling me a fat ass because I wrote about a waffle shortage. I thought up several retorts and deleted them before hitting return...I'm thinking about deleting the comment, but maybe I've got a zinger in me that's not foul in return. I wanted to pull a Julie on this idiot, but thought better since it IS attached to my real name. Hmmmm.

Oh, here's the comment:
"Being fat and making children fat is not a job. Me paying taxes for your fat kids to go to school while you sit on your fat ass is unacceptable."

Hmmmm, I didn't write about anyone's job. And why the hell does this person think I just sit on my ass? WTF? Ok, I'm a little plump, but geez, I'm not exactly a wellfare porker queen. I pay taxes. I'm middle class. And one of my kids is so skinny a stiff wind would knock him over.

Sweetie, I know you can't get laid but there's help for people like you. Take a shower, stop picking your nose, and save up for some viagra.

Or you could be adult, mature, and professional, and delete the comment. Possibly saving a copy with the IP in case the idiot is a wack job.

When people make comments like that, for no apparent reason, it's because they're either jealous of something you have, have done or are doing, or they're actually jealous of what you look like, obviously because you're better looking than them. Just smirk to yourself and forget about them.
