Hi Everyone,

Here's another new market called Tiny Prints:
http://www.tinyprints.com (http://www.tinyprints.com)

They pay a flat fee if US$15 per accepted idea.

They want three main themes: Sentimental, Simple and Humorous.

Humorous greetings can range from playful sarcasm to clever quips, double entendres and creative jokes.

Please write verses in the body of your email and send it to editor@tinyprints.com (editor@tinyprints.com)

Good Luck Everyone!

Reece :welcome:

Thankyou Reece. Tiny Prints accepted one copy from me 4 days ago. :hooray: I'm new to sending out subs so I'm thrilled to bits. Pity they only pay $15!

Calypso Cards pay $50 per copy. I've included the link below.

But Blue Mountain Cards pay $300 per copy! They shortlisted one of my pieces for market review so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. If the results are positive, they'll pay up. I've been waiting nearly 4 months!

You'll be waiting a lot longer than that! BMA market review process is extremely lengthy in time - patience is a virtue. :)

Cabria, longer than 4 mths! Oh, well! The BM agreement form did state the process can last up to a year. No wonder they pay a lot more than other companies. But if I'm successful, I don't mind the wait. :D

Cabria, do you know how long BM usually take to process Market Reviews? :hi:

It varies, but generally one year (to a max of two years). :)

Yeah, the wait with BMA is loooong. Mine tend to go the full 2 years. I recently got one back though from last year. I personally prefer getting them back early and rejected than having them go through successfully and just not being used (which has also happened recently).

The BMA market review is done in 2 parts, each 10 months long. If your piece doesn't make it past the first part, you get it back. If you don't get it back hopefully it will go all the way :) Good luck!

Thank you for the info, Arisa. This is indeed a very prolonged process. It would seem more reasonable to pay a contributor for using the copy for Market Review, then pay a further amount if the copy goes 'all the way'. Oh, well....

I've rec'd back many, and I mean many, rejected pieces that have been on MR after a year or more. But that's the nature of the game. They dictate the rules, and as nice as it would be to get some "up front" payment for poetry on MR, that's not the way they operate.

On the up side, they pay well and are a wonderful company to work for. When you make the first sale and any subsequent sales, those rejected pieces are forgotten about quite quickly. And as well, rejected pieces can be tweaked and improved upon. I've done so with some of my own rejections and have seen them come to fruition as sales.

So, it's a personal choice really, on how determined one is to be published with this company.

You know, I think I'm the only writer who's never even received a contract with bma, but I'm prolly wrong w. that thinking. I've sent in quite a few to them 'n not even a nibble... What can ya do.

Cabria, points taken. I can see there is a lot to learn about the various card markets. ;)

I don't submit to BMA on account of I'm old. I may not live long enough to see a check

I have to say, with BMA (hey, that rhymes!), it was about four months when they said my work--two pieces-- were being considered and sent the contract, then a year after that for the rejection. 16 months in all. Ugh. But if your work is accepted, the pay is good.

Anyway, thanks Reece for the heads-up on TinyPrints :)

Oh yeah--for years. I just don't happen by this neck of the woods much. :hi:
About ten years ago I won a Valentines Day contest for my greeting card-style poem to my sons. I was comparing them to various candies. ("You are our Sweethearts and such a Joy" was one line. Corny but they liked it!)

I've sent BMA a few ideas by e-mail, and they send an e-mail back that they will be looking at the ideas further and to go into their backyard or face-book. I'm not a face-book fan and haven't gone onto it, but has anyone else looked at BMA backyard or face-book?
