Just bored so I thought up a little question. Are there characters in your book that you would ever like to meet in real life? Or would you rather not meet some at all.
I can't say I'd like to meet many of mine;a lot of them tend to be silent and intimidating.

There are some that I'd never like to meet like any of my antagonists. But most of my characters are a mish-mash of people I've known or people I've seen on the streets. So, in a way, I've already met them. Except for the ones I've only based upon looks. I don't want to be disappointed if they're nothing like I imagined them being.

Yeah, I've engineered characters that I'd like to know. Flip side of that is, of course, that your bad guys are a little facet of your own imagination that you wouldn't want to meet in a dark alley.

Most of the characters in my novels are people that I would like to meet. Not the villians, though. I wouldn't even want to be in the same room as them. :faint:

I'd love to meet some of my characters. Of course, I feel like they're talking to me when I'm writing their stories, so in a way I guess I've already met them. Even some of my bad guys are kind of intriguing.

I feel like I already know my characters. They live inside my head way after I'm done with their story (are all writers as insane as I am?).
My bad guys, ooohhh no! Don't want to live in the same state as them.

LOL. My latest novel has a dark lord that I wouldn't want to be in the same universe with :Jaw:

My lead character goes through a pronounced personality change over the course of the story. So, would I like to meet him? Sure, as long as it was the early version. :)
The latter version is best placed as far away as possible.

Yes of course! I’d like to meet me, for instance.

Oh yeah, I'd like to meet all my characters. I'm even fond of my bad guys, so either I'm doing something wrong with my bad guys or I just really like all my characters. :)

I like my bad guys too, Saanen. Maybe it's because they're not so much evil as in the way.

I felt so connected to some of my characters that my life seemed to be missing something. Then I realized what was missing were these fictional people. I wouldn't care to meet the bad guys in my novel, though.

Well, I'd like to meet most of my characters. However, there are some really spoiled brats that I made up that I'd rather strangle.

Of course, in the same way I'd like to meet Aragorn or Frodo. And I wouldn't mind watching Sauron from a distance. Who knows; may I could get a good tan basking in the Great Eye?

I'd want to meet all of my characters, so that I could better describe them. :P
Also, even my "villains" are human, they just have differing opinions. So, I'd want to meet them too, out of curiousity. (Provided, of course, it's in a maximum security prison and I have a pistol handy).

My characters ARE really people. At least, the voices in my head tell me so...

Some of them, like my protagonists. And, actually, it'd probably be a lot of fun to meet my antagonists, too, if a little foolhardy...

My MC is really cool and strong and smart and funny and I would want to be best friends with him, lol! But my bad guy is really bad and he's strong too and almost the complete opposite of my MC and no I don't ever want to meet him coz he is so bad and he blows up worlds with his magic staff of power!

I doubt you're doing anything wrong. Some of the best bad guys are likeable. Like Artemis Fowl. He may be the protagonist but he is definitely the bad guy. ;)

I'm working on a fantasy novel, so I'd love to meet my mage (as long as he could still do magic). Of course, after what I've put him through during this story I think he'd rather plot my assassination than sit down for a cup of tea. Most of my characters are probably trying to figure out ways to hide my pens.
To flip this question a little, are there any characters you'd like your characters to meet? At the moment, the characters from my fantasy novel are visiting the Enterprise. It's been very interesting watching my mage try to explain to Mr. Spock et. al. that yes, magic really does work. This isn't something I'd write down, but it's been an interesting thought experiment to see how the characters I've come up with would react to other established characters in totally different situations.

I think it would be hilarious for my characters to meet the Mean Girls, like, from the movie. My book is set in, like, 1701, so...lol.
