Without knowing the premise of a story, which of these two titles gets your attention the most and why. I will tell you it is fiction/mystery/thriller (I hope).
ANONYMOUS or A DEED OF TRUST
Thanks

But neither totally grabs me by the curlies.

Thanks for the response.
Now, the story is about identity theft in the real estate finance industry. Any thoughts?

A Deed Of Trust, and that's before you told me what it was about.Anonymous is a dead title.

I picked A DEED OF TRUST before I read your second post in this thread. Anonymous doesn't have any appeal for me. :)

How about "A great deal of trust"?

Deed of Trust gives you a springboard of titles especially good in a mystery/thriller/murder series - Quitclaim Deed, and so on - much like the Prey series.

Ive been leaning toward A Deed of Trust, because of the play on the word "Deed". It can be perceived as a noun or a verb and fits the story line. Anonymous leans to the ID theft portion. The main "villian" character remains anonymous to the public throughout, but not to the reader.
Thanks again for the input.
Hey veinglory, sorry about your "curlies", or lack of.
Leaning toward A Deed of Trust? Good. Now fall on it. "Anonymous" says nothing.

Just for your consideration. . . .
Evil Deeds (probably already used)
The Transaction
An Undeserved Trust
The Name on the Deed
A Misdeed of Trust
Stolen Self
A Faceless Trust
False Papers
Of your two choices, I like A Deed of Trust better.

I agree, neither name gets my attention.
Perhaps "Loss of Trust" - play on words
"Lost Identity" - wider audience
"Stollen" - works with the right cover
something along those lines.

I like "A Deed of Trust" because it implies a relationship/potential conflict with the word 'trust', and the 'deed' is a play on words with the subject matter.
On the other hand, unless it's a quote from a song or a poem or something, or the name of a particular legal document, what does it mean? It sounds kind of empty to me -- interesting words put together, but that's all.
On the other hand, "Anonymous" strikes me as kind of a death knell. The last thing you want your story to be is anonymous. It has a kind of 'beat me' connotation, to me.

How about simply "Deed"?
Random thought. Don't know.

I actually prefer 'Deed of Trust' vs 'A Deed of Trust'
That pesky article always turns me off in titles.

I like this suggestion.
Both "trust" and "deed" are good because of the multiple meanings. I also like "deed", since it is about real estate.

How about "Anonymous Deed"?
Just to mix it up a little :)

Anonymous is a completely boring title.
FWIW, obsessing over titles is generally a waste of time, since editors usually change them.

This is what I love about this site! Opinions, opinions, opinions. First of all. "neither" is not an answer to my question; secondly, I am far from obsessing.
Love all you guys, mean it.
thanks again.

I'm not keen on one-word titles, they seem to lack imagination.
'A Deed Of Trust' didn't do much for me either, but as soon as someone suggested 'Deed Of Trust' I liked it a lot more.

"A Deed of Trust"? Really? I like Anonymous better. "A Deed of Trust" sounds kind of like those annoying titles whose purpose is simply to create some kind of a pun. That always got on my nerves. Anynomous adds mystery, in my opinion. What do you like best? Go with that. My two cents.

None of them make me interested in the story but "A Deed of Trust" certainly jumped out at me as a real title. As suggested, without the 'A' could be better.
"Anonymous" is stale- completely uninteresting and lacking. It says nothing...unless you take off the "ymous" part and make it "Anon." Which, I guess, would change the meaning.
"Stolen" would even be better, although just as unimaginative.
