I have always double spaced my lines when writing my synopsis, chapter-by-chapter, etc.
I have recently read that everything should be single spaced (lines), except for the actual manuscript.
Has anyone else heard this? Do you single line or double line your synopsis, query letter, chapter-by-chapter?

Your synopsis and query letter are single-spaced; the manuscript is double-spaced. By chapter-by-chapter, do you mean an outline?

Double-spacing does no harm, and there are writers who double-space everything. But single spacing is the norm. Double-spacing if used for anything that will be edited, but since no one will ever edit your synopsis single-spacing saves paper count, and allows you to get more of your story in the one or two page requirement most agents ask for.
