Call for One Acts for Summer Theater Festival

Impact Theater, located in Brooklyn, NY, is announcing a call for one-act submissions for its Summer One Act Festival to be held at the end of June 2006. Submissions are open to all ages and levels of experience.

Submissions should meet the following criteria:

* work must either be an unpublished, original piece OR the submitter must retain ALL rights to the piece (submission of piece indicates that submitter retains all rights to their work)

* approximately 25 minutes in length (10 - 20 minutes ideal, a little longer or a little shorter is okay)

* minimal set/props would be appreciated

No more than two submissions from the same author, please! Sorry, no pay.

Submissions may either be submitted via e-mail or postal mail. Postal mail submission should be sent to:

(please note: postal submission will only be returned if accompanied by a self-addressed, stamped envelope)

E-mail submissions should be sent as either a text or Word attachement, with the subject: Impact One Act Submission. Any submission in a different format or without that subject heading will be deleted, unread. E-mail submissions to:

All submissions MUST adhere to the following:

* Author information ONLY on cover letter and/or e-mail and must include the following:

Author Name
Title of Piece
E-mail Address
If Piece Has Been Previously Performed and Where

Author's name, address, etc. should NOT appear anywhere in the manuscript

* Title page should include ONLY title of the piece

* Pages must be numbered

Submission Deadline: April 2nd

Except for the no-pay part, this looks good.

But the no-pay part is killing me here. I've got a one-act just sitting, but nothing? I'm not happy just giving it away.

Bear in mind, it may be no Pay. But if your work is seen and liked....its possible right?
