A major Hollywood producer is interested in my screenplay, and he's asked me to send it to his daughter to read. I need to send a cover letter and I don't want to blow it. HELP!!! I've come up with a great logline, but what else should I put in the letter? The producer is a family friend so I don't want to be too professional, but it still needs to be professional. Any suggestions, comments and advice is welcomed. Thanks!!!

First of all congrats!! That is wonderful. I hope you get it. I have never written one but I have found a site with an example.

If you've got an invitation for a read, don't write a letter as if it were a cold query...
Forget the logline, forget the synopsis, just send the script. As a producer, I don't like it when I've agreed read a script but I still get all sorts of stuff telling me what I WILL be reading.
Just send the script with a short "thanks for your interest, looking forward to hearing from you" letter, stress your connection, your enthusiasm and your hopes of working with them in the future.
Then sit back and wait.
Good luck with it.
