Welcome to the Poetry Forum!
You're encouraged to browse, read, play, respond, and post your own poems.
A couple of things to consider, many of which may be obvious to you:
1. All of the general AW Forum rules apply here. Chief among these rules is Respect Your Fellow Writer. For further info, seeThe Newbie Guide to Absolute Write (http://absolutewrite.com/forums/showthread.php?t=34886).
Other questions? Please ask your friendly neighbourhood moderator.
2. Be brave -- show us your stuff! This forum is for everyone -- please use it! Stick around, watch -- people improve their poetry by leaps and bounds around here.
3. Remember this is a general-viewing board, and your content (poems, posts, etc.) should suitable for anyone to read. Some content, such as erotica, is better suited to forums other than AW. (Currently, the Erotica Forum doesn't have a Share Your Work section. However, it has a thread with links (http://www.absolutewrite.com/forums/showthread.php?t=6258) to other erotica sharing forums.)
4. READ THIS THREAD (http://absolutewrite.com/forums/showthread.php?t=13613) if you're posting a poem you might want to publish.
5. If you want to post a poem, but you don't want critiques, post it in the AW Chapbook (http://www.absolutewrite.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=120) sub-forum. Posting in the other forums is an indication that critiques are welcome.
6. Help the critters help you. If you're looking for help with a particular aspect of the poem, mention that too. Give your readers some guidance on what you'd like, and they'll be much more helpful.
7. Whether you're giving or receiving criticism, be candid, but respectful.
Have fun, and enjoy the forum!
