...to say it the way it is:

ROFLMAO. Truth and no hedging. Wish American journalists could pound it out like this and not lose their jobs.

Not bad. But it's an editorial, not a news item--I'm quite certain nothing therein was so controversial to bar it from the NYT or WSJ op-ed pages.
I did like this line, however:
His sexual predilections are not really the issue. However, a member of Congress is in a special position of authority towards the pages; hitting on them is a serious breach of professional ethics - and, yes, personal responsibility.

I loved the tongue in cheekiness. Okay, editorial writer...opinion writer, I guess, rather than journalist. Told you I'm not good at these things. And I don't much pay attention to niggling nibbleties, anyway, unless its pixels or cat hair in the oils.
As an Australian, I wish the said journalist with the tongue-in-cheek flair was a fellow Australian. But, as it is, the said Gerard Baker apparently is... US Editor and Assistant Editor of The Times of London.

Oh, THAT explains it. Because no British politician would ever cheat on his or her spouse.
