Which recent books are considered avant-garde?

You might check out books that New Directions puts out. I've seen (and read) some avant-garde books they put out, but they weren't recent. Of course, New Directions puts out a lot of other things, too . . .

In the mainstream, I'd say Steven Hall's The Raw Shark Texts is pretty avant-garde. Tremendously exciting book, in my opinion.
