Because I also do short story children's series as well as stage plays where can I find legitimate agents and an illustrator?

If you want to research agents, use a source such as 'agentquery.com'.
You can see how 'legitimate' an agent is by checking up on them on P&E (Preditors & Editors). They are here: http://www.anotherealm.com/prededitors/

I'm not sure why you would want an illustrator. Are you self-publishing?
Here's a thread on why children's book writers might not want to try and hire illustrators: http://absolutewrite.com/forums/showthread.php?t=34843

I have a relative who is an illustrator. She started doing labels for Fat Tire ales, then other people saw those labels, contacted Fat Tire, and got her name. Now she does graphic art for a few other companies, as well as a cpuple of children's books from people who saw the other labels and liked her style.
So, look around for artwork that fits your idea of the book - look in other children's books, or labels, or advertisements for a style that matches your text, then find the illustrator.
