My computer is going in to be repaired tomorrow. This is my last post till I get my computer back. I'll be off line for about a week, maybe longer if the c drive has to be replaced.
Please keep this thread near the top so that everyone will be able to have a chance to look at it.
Thank you

My computer is still in the shop, right now I'm at another computer.

A short time ago, I posted a reply on Beginners Mistakes about wrong use of words and bad English. Just read Toto1958's postings here and want to add a friendly reminder to Toto1958 to check his spelling and use of words before sending out a query or script. There are some glaring errors in his postings.:smack

toto is NOT a screenwriter. he's just a shoemaker that won't go away. ;)
toto1958
06-23-2004, 01:51 PM
Why did she pick shoemaker? Don't tell me its another term.
WHY should everyone read about Benjamin Lincoln?
Give me one good reason?
toto1958
06-23-2004, 02:24 PM
Because hes a good subject to write a story about, thats why I put his name up there. It's sad you don't know anything about him because if you did then you wouldn't be asking me.
NikeeGoddess

Ben Lincoln was a shoemaker. go figure!
yeah, it's a term but, you need a firm grasp of english slang to get it.
toto1958
06-24-2004, 01:26 AM
You mean to cut short or snob, that was term used in 1830
Where did you get that from?

Why should it, its got really good links in it.
NikeeGoddess

b/c "links" are endorsements by a website. they are provided as a curtesy to a sister site, or paid advertisement, or with a barter agreement where each of those sites would have an absolutewrite "link" on their site. get it!

Bump!
nikee darling, it is good info tho. Writers (most) need all the help they can get. And when I first came on board (the boards) I wish I had had all this then, cause it sure would have lessened the time I took to find them myself!

This thread was made to be perminent and pinned to the top.
Can we make it permanent, instead?
You know.. There's a "spell check" button below this box when you type stuff in. It's quite helpful to have when you're not a good speller yourself -- although why anyone pretending to be a writer would not take the time to learn how to use the tools of his trade (words) appropriately and accurately is completely beyond me.
In addition, there's an "edit" button to the left of each post you make, so that if you find a mistake, you can fix it. Much like you should edit and rewrite your scripts and stories when you find problems in them.
This is a board from writers, for writers, who presumably all have the goal of becoming professionals.
Shouldn't it be common sense to present ourselves, and the things we write thusly?

Great advice, APW! Details are important and people would do well to pay closer attention to proper spelling and grammer. I think we've all learned an important lesson today!

The day ez boards become a paying market is the day I'll worry overmuch about typos, misspellings and other posters' opinions.
