View Full Version : Did You Update Your Blog Today?

I did :D
I'm one of those posters who posts irregularly. Sometimes I'll post everyday and then I might go a week (or, oops!, more) before I think of something to say.
Next time you update - why not come to this thread and let us know?

I updated yesterday and Friday night. My nano concession post, as well as a review of Will Elliot's debut novel, 'The Pilo Family Circus.' I'm especially keen to get people to check out the review, not because I'm someone with witty insights, but because the book is so goddamn original, and hasn't got nearly enough credit and exposure that it deserves.

Thanks Dawno for the comment. I'm going to check out people's posts when I can, and then even comment when I can.
I must say, I've fallen out of the habit of commenting, and even reading other people's blogs, let alone posting to my own.

I'm on a new push to post dayly in my main blog--thanks for the reminder!
I did, mainly because the material just presented itself. I won a book--again--from the great American book giveaway site (http://www.bkgiveaway.com/). I strongly suspect that no one else is entering, because I NEVER win anything.
I try to post daily, and have been getting better at it. Heck, I posted three times on Friday! Ahh...procrastination at its best.

I post *very* irregularly. Haven't been in much of a mood to compose something for it, and besides, a lot of times I forget my blog is even there.
But, since I do have an unnaturally obsessive loathing of literary scammers, I should probably update with the big, exciting, awesome, delightful news about dear old Martha's sentencing (http://www.accrispin.blogspot.com/). When I read it on the Writer Beware blog, I was celebrating and in a much better mood than I have been lately.
I now have a topic for at least one post. But all the others... meh.

Guess I just need to face facts. I'm a night person. Some are owls, some are larks. I come alive after dark.
I'm the same. Pity my lifestyle is compatible with this. I have to wake early and go to bed early. Which doesn't really work, because I can't sleep so early, so I never get enough sleep. I do however, get really good bits and pieces for stories that I can't use because work sucks up too much time in the day.

This is fabulous! Thanks, everyone for posting. What do you think, can we make it a habit to come by and let the rest of us know we've posted? I'm not going to sticky the thread - it'll sink if nobody uses it - but I think it's a good way to keep people remembering to visit your blogs.

I posted and it's very special and important.
A guy named Oscar, as part of my 'Ask an author (http://www.benjaminsolah.com/blog/?page_id=174)' feature, asked “I am a young aspiring author, and I find myself instinctively writing in the first person. Is this detrimental in any way, and are there any drawbacks to writing in this form?”
It's an interesting question and one that I've dealt with myself. Here's my answer (http://www.benjaminsolah.com/blog/?p=349). I closed the comments for this one and diverted the discussion to my forum to see how that works out.

I did update today, in fact. However, I have a few questions. When I'm using IE, I can see my recent update. When I'm logged into FireFox, it shows only up to my September 25 post of my review of a book. Why is that, and are others here who are using IE and FireFox seeing what I'm seeing? Or in this case, not seeing what should be there if using FireFox?

I see it just fine in FireFox. Maybe you need to clear the URL history/cache? I had trouble with Miss Snark's blog once where I couldn't see recent posts - kept going back to an old one. I think I cleared the cache then and all was well.

I'm going to do a post on happiness with links to quizzes and books on the subject. just haven't finished it
i've officially put myself "on holiday" as a mental state as well as physically so the post got started but then oops on holiday I went.
Which leads me to my question...
Who will be posting regularly over Xmas and who will be taking a break? I can't post date my posts so I will probably take a break for a few days...

I had a burst of enthusiasm and did 2 posts today. However I still have a post on happiness that I have to finish and post. I am finding I am getting quicker at it. Usually my updates are just bits of progress on the Dodge Dart. This latest update is a bit bigger, though. There's a couple of guys out in the automotive world that I believe are selling items that don't work and rip off unwary consumers, and I'm starting a campaign to have them brought to justice. My latest post covers what you can do to help. (http://madscientistmatt.blogspot.com/2006/12/open-letter-to-federal-trade.html)

I finally updated my blog after several weeks. I hadn't been in the mood for a while. But today I did a thorough update, with a list of what I got for Christmas, what's been going on, and *gasp* actual stuff about my own writing (which I used to never post about).
This year I'm going to try harder to update more often, preferably at least one on the weekend and one during the week (but only if I have time and aren't really busy).
And this time I did a special "note to self" saying that I should stop worrying about what other people will think if I talk about this topic or that topic, and just do whatever I feel like talking about. It feels a lot better this way. Besides, I am capable of talking about things other than scammers. :D

Oh well, I know who did it and I expected better of them as it was the person who helped me set up the guestbook. We had a falling out over something petty a few weeks back.
I'm a member of a website run by someone her boyfriend doesn't like...it's all so stupid, stupid, stupid. I haven't checked my guestbook in ages, so only just noticed it. I expected better of her. Still, what can you do? I think such actions say a lot more about her than they do about the quality of my blog and its guestbook.
I'll sort it out tomorrow, then start inviting people to sign it. The blog hasn't been affected, though, so that's something to smile about. :)
Isn't it ridiculous how people act when they have a modem to cower behind?

Greetings!
I've had my blog for about a year, but circumstances kept me from posting very often. For the new year and my new writing project, I deleted my old blog and began a new one, this one devoted mostly to my WIP and all the slings and arrows I encounter while slogging through it.
Ack, that's not true. I LOVE my WIP; it just doesn't always love me back.
I admire those of you who have more than one blog. It's one of my resolutions for 2007 to not only maintain the present one, but also to set up and maintain two more (one about the GEICO cavemen and another about a 'zine I'm trying to get off the ground). Considering that I write full-time, you'd think I'd be able to fulfill this, but lesser men (and women) have been felled by fewer obstacles.
Today, I blogged about the same thing everyone else did: my writing goals for the new year. Oh, and about the worst DVD I'd seen in a very long time.
Cheers,
MRA

I just had one of those horrible moments where I spent far too long on a post, then I published and it seemed to be just gone.
Finally I realized it was because it was a story I started writing out earlier and saved as a draft in blogger, but when I went back to it tonight I didn't change the date, so it published back in my archives.
Easily fixed, but man was I freaking out there for a minute!

I haven't updated my personal blog (http://rekd.frihost.net)since I made the new years resoltion post about resolving to post on that blog once a week.

I updated today -- wrote a post about Passive Protagonists in novels, specifically an overly-passive protagonist in the second novel I wrote, which I'm soon gonna rip from seam-to-seam and revise.

I have a dozen or so blogs, write in two of them daily, two of them every other day, one every third day, and the rest of them about twice a week. And somehow I find time to work on my books. Sleep is fleeting.

Wooooo I made a post tonight about going to the father daughter prom http://www.cinemafromage.com/?p=381 and revealed my deep dark secret....that I'm a girl scout troop leader!
I wrote about my first genuine FAINTING experience. I've lost consciousness before, but always in a controlled medical environment. Never just ... you know SWOONED before.
Scarlet O'Hara really oversold that garbage.

Wrote about the common belief that we're asleep when we're hypnotized.
Hey MMcC, I lost consciousness and hit the floor the other night. I was going to blog about it, but I can't think straight yet. I don't have a rescue Pug, though.

Hey all! Updated with a post about words and their meanings and how people seem to misuse the same words over and over - specifically "Arrogance" and "Opinionated". Also wrote a cute poem at the end. Well I think it's cute.

I know Im an idiot for doing this but....
for now my blog is on myspace. (EEEKK run for your lives!)
I dont know if I'll go to blogger or livejournal - but it does fine for its purposes, plus I also get to 'network' all in the same spot.
Today my entry was on pet peeves. Who knows what tomorrow's will be. Alot of times I just think of stuff on the spot and just hope I dont ramble off into too many directions.

I've been blogging a fair bit compared to my latest tirade of a post once a week and it's had an effect on my comments. I'll be posting more soon.

I updated today too (about Battlestar Galactica) AND installed a new counter. At least I think I did.
Won't know for sure until someone visits....
What? Hint? Me? Nuh-uh. Not a chance. I installed it (I think) 10 minutes ago. Someone will be along. Anytime now. No rush.

Well I visited! Let me know if it works. Unfortunately I couldn't read your post as I haven't seen any Battlestar yet and I am planning on renting the DVD's soon and I didn't want any spoliers.
I updated a small entry about getting my edits, and quoted a fun farside joke. Oh come on you know you want to see which one!

Thanks for the visit Toothpaste but unfortunately (but not entirely unexpectedly) no visits show. At least couple of other folks I know of were there too but nothing registered. I guess I installed the counter improperly. Will go fiddle around in my template's innards.

Okay. It's working now. You can all stop visiting. Nothing to see there. Go on home to your families.

I just wanted to post on my blog but nothing. Maybe blogger has a headache again. When I wanted to post an "error" message came up. Tried five times and nothing happened. The last message read "forbidden". What is this? Russia!

Too tired to post this last night, but I posted several picture entries, including the Round Robin Photo Challenge. And related the saga of a seemingly simple tire repair that wasn't.
