Hi everyone
I must not have submitted this the first time. Hmmm...
Anyway, if you wouldn't mind I am looking for info on Vikings. I have no more information than that to offer and am open to any resources - print or online. An immortal Viking just arrived as a key player to my present day WiP and I know very little about them.
Anyway, any info would be appreciated.

Don't know if this is what you are looking for in general, but some good info on all of them. You can do a google search and find more. Good luck!

Many, many thanks.
It's so useful to have this site. I do google but it's so hit or miss with reagards to accuracy. I know a Uni website is likely a good source but with the other ones you just never really know.
Many thanks again.

Read some of the Old Norse sagas; I like Njal's Saga well.
A History of the Vikings. (Oxford Monographs in International Law) Gwyn Jones
The Vikings (Penguin History) Else Roesdahl

Vikings -- that is, Dark Age Scandinavia -- is my speciality, and the above is one of very few sites in English that does not make me cringe.
This woman knows her stuff.
You can also PM me, flannelberry, if you have any specific questions.

That was the site I was trying to put down but couldn't get it right so I deleted my post. Thanks for bringing it up. It was starting to bother me.

some of the proto canadians called them the "scrailings" don't remember the spelling. it means "ugly people" because the vikings were hated so much. there was also a prayer that went along the lines of "save us oh Lord, from the pestilence of the plague and the wrath of the scrailings"

No, it's the other way around. Skræling (Scandinavian spelling) was the Norse name for the North American Indians.
That prayer sounds like something you just made up. There is, however, a famous prayer that goes like this: "From the fury of the Northmen, good Lord deliver us." That's an English prayer, and apparantly possibly apocryphal.
