Actually it's fitting in a way, since Scotsmen were major players in the cattle business, especially on the northern plains. Kind of an interesting historical circle, if you will.

No, those were the bloody Micks. The Scots were too cheap t' use their boots t' steal a hoss to go a'rustlin' cattle with.

(also kidding)

Seriously, many of the larger spreads on the northern plains were backed by Scottish money. At least indirectly they played a major role in one of the last cattle frontiers in the West.
