Aloha folks. Just came over here from another place (DD), and wanted to say hi to the screenwriters here.

Being a newie to AW, I'm curious who hangs out in this here forum. How many writing credits do you have (and can you share which films)? Me? Including the current script, I'm finally up to zero. ;)

Welcome Warren.

It's good to see you finally make the transition to AW.

All the cool kids hang out here and in the Pop Culture Compendium and in Office Party.

Enjoy!

ANd don't forget to give out plenty of rep points especially to your buddies.
:)

Welcome Warren.
DD is a fine place and I hope we can add to your experience and quest for knowledge. Many DD'ers, like my co-mod Derek, hang out at DD as well.

Enjoy your stay here.

As for my credits... I won't brag, but I can say I have more than you do.:tongue

Hey there Mr. Lowe! Good to see you. I don't know if I'll get over to where the cool kids hang out in the Office Culture or the Pop Party ;) . Silly real life and all, I even dropped out of that old place known as OoO.

Aloha.

Hi Whistle, good to see you here as well. Here I am posting three in a row to build the count...

That's like saying you decided to end your cruise on the Titanic early after hitting the iceberg.

Or maybe it's not. I slept bad.

Anyway, I assure you, Pop Compendium is the Queen Mary. The amenities are great. Plenty of great people. Plenty of humps as well. Great captain and crew as well.

Come on over and take a look.

You won't get sucked in.

Welcome Warren,
I only have a couple of small options, so nothing to brag about here. Still we try to get things right and have fun doing it all along the way.

my claim to fame is getting rejected by Disney.
Oh, and running a feedback service.
(but let's just keep that between you and me.)

I have five of my own works in progress, one script for a writer I'm mentoring, (very much of a building the script from the ground up and also putting it in English kind of thing) and a second script I'm preparing for a client who got a read request from a producer.

Wecome to the water cooler.
First drink's on me!

You take your water straight up? Or on the rocks?

Welcome. I used to frequent DD, but kept forgetting my username and password. I just kind of gave up after two user accounts.

I have no big credits to speak of; made my first sale to an indie prodco last year, and was a finalist in a screenwriting contest the year before that. For all intents and purposes, I still consider myself a base amateur.

Hope you enjoy the forums; very informational and though I don't post a great deal (witness the low post count for someone who's been here roughly two years), there are some genuinely cool folks floating about.

DD is Done Deal, a forum much like our own,
but we're the best-- right guys?

I moved out of my appartment just to hang out here. I have nowhere else to go - and don't want to :-)

Thanks for the intros folks. (Yes, DD is another site/forum here on this wonderous Interweb).

For me, I do write (among other things) for a living. I have an entire company that is based upon my writing, but I'll apologize up front for not discussing that here. I'm kind of private about those things, feel free to PM if so inclined...

I enjoy script writing, kind of as a hobby, but mostly to understand the process more. My current goals in this arena are to start a production company, so the more I can learn about various aspects of this business, the better. Plus, if I ever decide a script of mine is worthwhile, it will be easier to get it made that route.

Thanks again for the intros, nice to meet you.

Congratulations on being a writer for a living, that is a hard goal to obtain.

Good luck with your production company, one way to start it is by doing. Either write or acquire a short and shoot it, learn by trial and error on something small, see if it's something you have a taste/knack for, and go from there.
