Kurt Vonnegut died today. He was 84, so while it's sad it's not surprising/tragic, I guess?
I just figured we should take the time to notice and mark the passing of one of SF's greats.

84 is too young, these days.

Kurt Vonnegut, Jr. validated science fiction for me when I was a young adult. The Boston Globe printed this brief bio (http://www.boston.com/ae/books/articles/2007/04/12/counterculture_author_icon_kurt_vonnegut_jr_dies_a t_84/).

I just heard the news.
And so it goes, I suppose.
Sigh.

That's sad. I was going to go to a lecture of his on the 27th.
RIP.

Yup, Spiny - the first thing I thought of when hearing the news...
And so it goes.
Never liked his work, and consider him to be more black comedy/satire than science fiction. 84 is a good age to die at, RIP.

No, there is no good age to die at. Especially not when you've changed as many lives as Mr. Vonnegut, and were bound to change quite a lot more.
