View Full Version : Formatting scene shown on T.V
I'm doing a series of scenes that are played out on television, as in flipping through the channels showing talk shows, news stations, exc.. discuss different opinions/commentary on an issue. I know I've seen this done before, but I can't for the life of me think of where. What is the proper way to format these scenes? Oh, and on one of the T.V shows they show a home video. How do I format that? Please help me.

I don't know about a "proper way" but nothing beats plain English, e.g. and just for fun's sake:
INT. LIVING ROOM - DAY
Bob the Slob lies on the couch and thumbs the TV remote.
ON TV:
Flicking through various channels -- talk show, news station, weather report. Then "Hilarious Funny Moments" shows a home video of a dog jumping on the chest of a slob just like Bob lying on a couch watching TV.
Bob the Slob chuckles.

you want to be specific but not too specific because they would need the rights to show a real program. they can get that later, for example if they want Larry King or something like that.
MONTAGE BEGINS:
a) news program discusses a wacked out shooting incident
b) commercial airs advertising violent video games with machine guns
c) political roundtable show discusses a link bet video games and shooting
etc.....
MONTAGE ENDS:
Thanks - preciate the help:)
