I just changed my query letter and now I regret the 19 I have sent out. I totally gave away the ending in the short synopsis within the first 2 lines. It held no mystery at all as to what my book was about. *&^%.
I guess if the agents that have rejected me wanted anything to do with my novel, changing a few lines wouldn't matter... *tries to convince self*
Did I mention ^%$# ?
Welcome to my hell. I cringe at some of the queries I sent out last year!

will saying: "We learn from our mistakes"
help any?
And who knows, maybe the query isn't as bad as you think?

And don't worry about "giving away the ending" in your queries. You should be giving an accurate synopsis of the story, which includes the twists or surprises.

I know, but I could have left SOMEthing to make them wonder (at first THEN give it away).
Sigh, oh well. Maybe the NEXT 20 queries will go better than the first 20! LOL

And the end! It's okay to tell them how it ends. The not telling part is for the blurb on the back of your published book. :)

Agents want to know how it ends. None of them rejected you, they just passed on this submission.

Mr. Robinson's words are both true and wise.
(Notice how I left a space so you can cut that out and paste it to your monitor? :) )
Unless you got a rejection letter that told you you were an imbecile and should cease abusing electrons and trees... I mean, yeah, that would be kind of personal.
If not, and you got some variation of the "it's not right for me/us, we don't handle (insert genre here)", then please, keep in mind. What got rejected was that one story submission, at that specific moment. (maybe it's the story, maybe it's the agent, maybe it was their mood at the moment, maybe it was the current world situation or the earth's gravitational flux.)
Shake it off, buy some stamps, keep going.
