Caught

A fly sat down for a bite
to eat
Sticky sweet runnels
travel down
the sun warms the honey
but when it's time
to leave it's not so funny
now that we are aware
that honey is the same
colour as deadly amber
Caught for eternity
When it was only dinner
for which we stopped
by
the smell should have been the first clue
that all was not right
with the world
and sometimes
too sweet is just right
for catching those things
better left to fly.
