Hooray for FenCon! I'm in for a beer and some interesting times.
Any other AWers up to it?
:)

Seriously, some people are going to miss OUT on the Sneak Peak at the Serenity/Firefly PnP RPG...

Why are these things never in New York?

World Fantasy is in New York this year--in Saratoga! :D I won't be there, but last year's was a LOT of fun. You should go! I WILL be in New York next year, at ThrillerFest in July. Maybe we could hook up if you're close to Manhattan.

I'll be at WFC, too.
Whoever had the bright idea of planning a convention in November in upstate New York is not my favorite person, however.
Miami, or San Diego, or Charleston, or somewhere with good weather in November.
If anything happens bad in the weather to cause plane delays, I'll be drastically affected because I'm only doing a three day fly-through!
However, this has nothing to do with FenCon in lovely North Dallas, wherein I shall be doing all kinds of fun and exciting things and you who cannot make it do not get to experience these things!

I've posted a couple pictures in my blog.
Not tonight, though. Tonight I am going to bed.
However, I will have more and more pictures of Fencon, and the many beautiful women in costumery, and the lovely and charming Connie Willis, as well as quite a few others (for instance, drachin8's husband...)
And, all of you fools that didn't go suck, and you're missing out on a fentastic con.
Over and out.

Also, drachin8 says beer, but her husband is the wuss with the beer asking about ciders and rieslings.
Drachin8 drinks whiskey. No ice. No twist. Just whiskey in a glass.
I bet she could handle cigars, too.

FENCON IV attendee here. Had a great time, met some good folks, and sat in on my share of talks, including Cathy's. I'd like to think her plug was the main reason I stopped by AW, but it was talked up in more than a few places.

I have pics too! Even got to TOUCH badducky's upcoming book (ooo! shivers!) :D
I'll try to get them downloaded and up here today, but it's a little nuts after being gone.
Great meeting you all! Had a wonderful time at parties, dinners and such, and the panel discussions were AWESOME! FenCon really puts on a terrific show. It's well-organized, calm and friendly.

People talk a lot of smack about the ugliness of sci-fi fantasy fans and writers, but I gotta say:
We're a good-looking bunch if this convention is any indication. Lots of beautiful people. Quite a few of them in beautiful costumes.
Check out the pictures!
(I have to say that I thought the best costumes were the Harry Dresdens. For once fantasy has a super-cool costume appropriate for rugged, middle-aged men! It even naturally hides their paunch!
As to who the best female costume was? I think the Quidditch chick was pretty freakin' awesome. She even let me hold her Nimbus!)

Whiskey: the perfect feminine social drink. *goes into a whiskey swoon*
On a side note for my poor husband, he WAS at least drinking a Guinness at the time of the cider/riesling conversation...it's just unfortunate that I am a woman who enjoys her hard liquor while he is a man who enjoys his girly drinks. Makes for great fun in restaurants, though!
*grins evilly*
Btw, great pics on your blog, ducky!
