So, I was re-reading my WIP and I realized that...I love it. Sure, it's unclean. Sure, it's got problems. Sure, it needs a LOT of work. But I still love the underlaying story that exsists in my mind. So I was thinking...does everyone love their WIP?
I feel that, if you don't love your WIP...why are you writing it? I mean, if you don't love it, despite it's flaws, how could anyone else love it?

Love, love changes everything-- hands and faces, earth and sky... Love, love changes everything, how you live and how you die. Love can make the summer fly, or a night seem like a life time, yes love, love changes everything--
I'm sorry, I've had that song in my head ALL DAY.

Yep been in love with this story of mine since i created the original back in 1986.

Well that was...short, Jo. Short but...pointless :P
(I've been re-watching Ghostbusters!)
I've been in love with this story since I first wrote down the first line. Maybe it's the characters, maybe it's the fact one of the characters has pink hair...I don't know, I just love it!

Btw, I think editing is bad for my teeth. I never realize that I've spent the day with my jaw clenched until I try to relax. Ouch. Maybe I should try chocolate instead.

Oh, but despite the poor writing, you still love the idea don't you, Arezal?
Also, before anyone else does: "What is love? Baby don't hurt me, don't hurt me...no more!"

I hated my novel earlier this week when I was trying to figure out what was wrong with Chapter Seven. Now that I think I've figured it out, I like it again.
I love the story and characters (especially the characters), and I always will, but I'll be awfully relieved when I get this thing submission-ready so I don't have to tinker with it again for a while.

Azrael insists that I don't respond to posts that spell his name wrong, but luckily, he's sleeping at the moment.
Yes, I love my characters. Sometimes I hate my stories, because they do horrible things to the people I love.

If we, deep down, didn't actually love our stories, would we write them in the first place?

Mm, yes, I also love my characters. Don't hate my stories, because I feel that it is the character's story-- a part of who they are. Anyway, I feel way more attached to the characters than anything that happens to them or any of the words that I write. Hopefully that makes revision easier. :)

I love some of my stories more than others but I do love them. They are all my children, so to speak lol. I think my biggest love is for my YA. I've been writing it since I was 12 and just now a publisher actually read 3 chapters of it. I cried I was so happy. They turned it down but said they would look at it again if I cleaned it up some so I've been working hard at making some changes. I'm a lot more mature now so its a little different lol. I am almost finished with it though. Since I don't have to rewrite all of it, just do some heavy editing, it isn't going as slow as my other WIP.
I put so much of myself in my stories I have to love them because I love me lol. Hey it took a long time for me to do that so its a big deal for me lol. Writing has saved my life so many times it aint even funny so I have to love anything I write just because of that. If the idea doesn't work, I store it away. I'm glad I do that because I was able to change a story into something new. I don't like throwing any of my personal rejects away just because I don't like it. I still love them though lol.
Ok, I'm weird. Next person lol

I love.
I'm also partial to Bioshock.
I find that the latter have bumped my true love to one side lately. That's probably not a good thing.

I think I love it with each chapter that gets finished. I'm halfway through a forest fire and an air tanker crash, and I'm really having a difficult time capture the huge scope of this chapter and everything that goes in it. But I do know that I'll love it when it's finished. It's just getting to the end of it that bugs me.

I want to play Bioshock. But I have no gamesystems. Tis' a sad thing.
Anyway, yes I love my stories. They're the best stories ever and I need to get back to them. They miss me.

Love is the difference between competence and greatness. Love is what keeps you going when the world is crashing down around you.
If you don't got love, you don't got anything worthwhile.

Yes! Character love comes first, then story love. Sometimes I do lose the love for a novel (usually it's a frustration over the inner critic coming out though)... I tend to stop writing it then, at least until the love returns. But the love for the characters always continues, even when they're being idiots. <cough>Tia<cough>
All you need is love. (All together now) All you need is love. (Everybody) All you need is love, love. Love is all you need.

I smooched my WIP when I printed out the first draft. I wouldn't smooch the first draft now, of course. But I might smooch the third edit. :)
As for characters... I love them all. Love, love, love. Especially Dictionary. I don't know why, he's such an insufferable asshole. But maybe that's why? I don't know.

I'll lean towards yes. I'm writing my story of a difficult time in my life (now) so I keep reliving all the drama. And I like my characters. :)

I love it passionately, but everyone knows that passion can lead to destruction, of the body, mind and soul. I gotta keep my head screwed on right and try to get out from under the passion and just make the damn thing work.

I've re-read my latest novel about 50 times, and I still love it. This is a first for me.
It's all the main character, of course, but you know what I've found? Having an actual plot helps a lot.
Here's hoping that the agents will love it as much as I do.

Love is a battlefield.
I wrote that in the bathroom after the dumb girl who wrote "LOVE IS NOT LIKE ANYTHING. ESPECIALLY A FUCKING KNIFE."
So I came up with a list of LOVE IS metaphors for her.

I love it. I always have loved it. And I hate it at the same time, because right now it's not at the caliber I know it could be. Making it reach that caliber will be very tricky, but I'm determined.

That was the one big drawback to being a news reporter -- having to cover and write stories I couldn't give a crap about -- and make them interesting!

I loved my novel when I finished that third edit. Then I brought it here to SYW. Now I hate the rewrite, but it needs to be done. And so I avoid rewriting like the plague, and bother all you good people of AW :D

Yeah, I fall in love with the characters and the story, which is a part of the characters as someone else said, and then I love the whole thing. The writing, sometimes, sometimes not, but what the words are saying...yes...:D sometimes I'm reading along and writing along and just stop and say to one of the characters (or all), "God, I love you!" XD

Writers all love their manuscripts, like mothers love their babies. And sometimes just as objectively.
Editors and agents find this amusing at times.

Is it too big? I found out elsewhere that I have a really wide screen or something, because other people tell me something I post is stretching the page, and it only takes up, like, half of mine. Either that, or everyone I've known has really small screens.
Even so, that'd only be one level. So...? XD should I thank you...?

I love the story in my head. Unfortunately I don't think the story I'm putting on paper is the same one. The one in my head is what keeps me going. Maybe I'll be able to capture some of it.

Well jeez. You're welcome. this is an exact example of what I was talking about--it looked tiny on my page. For future reference, keep me checked on that. XD
My screen's 1280x800 px. I don't think that's that big...is it? O.o how strange!

It's creepy becuase it is. I mean...look at the pictures! They're like the photo line up for Creep-o-Rama, version three point one.
Which is great if you are going for that sort of thing, btw.
"Love. Love will keep us together."
I start singing that in my head every time this thread is bumped.
