The new Co-mod of Mainstream/Contemporary/Literary -- JST5150!
Jason is a fine writer and poet, and he and Jen will, I think, complement each other's strengths in here.
Thank you Jason. :) I'm awfully glad you agreed to take this on.

Welcome Jason! Here's some coffee for you. Later in the day, after we've received our rejections, we will be serving chocolate and alcohol.

Thanks for the coffee!
As for those rejections, chin up. Besides, vodka and cranberry works much quicker. :-)
I look forward to breathing life into the forum and helping you all in any way I'm able. If you need something, please don't hesistate to ask.
(He says, expecting a thread full of interesting and challenging requests ...)

Congrats!
You've been an excellent calendar dude, so this should be natural.

And the feathers? Huh? Huh? It'll keep until Easter, too. w00t!
Congrats, Jason! You kinda remind me of Tony Soprano (in a good way), so I'm sure you'll be a great mod.

III, I cannot rep you from work (firewall restrictions kill the script), however, I'm not sure I've not been given a cooler compliment in a very long time. Thanks!

Hi, Jason, congratulations on being a mod! It seems you were inviting questions, so I have two quick ones for you:
1. Does your ID, jst5150, have anything to do with the model number of a certain device first sold around 1981?
2. How do I write a best-selling mainstream novel?
Feel free to elaborate on your answers as much as you like. Thanks, and congrats again!:)

No. It's my initials and the police code for 'crazy' in LA.
2. How do I write a best-selling mainstream novel?
I wish I knew, or I'd be cashing my royalty checks. :-) I'm told mainstream is "a novel with a broad appeal, that encompasses themes and characters that most readers can identify with." That's fairly vanilla. However, I would recommend homework. Practice. Writing. Rewriting. More homework. Honing. More rewriting. A good editor. A better glass of scotch and, in the end, some luck. of course, the luck comes from doing all the other things well.
Thanks for the welcome. :-)

Glad to have you here. :)
I've been AWOL more often than not lately and--unfortunately--I think it shows.
