Robert Wyatt - British singer/songwriter/musician has a new CD out called "Comicopera". Wyatt has been around since the late 1960s, when he was the drummer with "Soft Machine", one of the groundbreaking jazz-fusion acts of the 1970s. Since then he's been solo and wheelchair bound after breaking his back in an accident.

He's highly regarded by critics and something of a cult figure in the British music scene - he's also an original. I don't imagine many people in the US have heard of him.

Here's a snippet from an interview he gave when he talks about one of his tracks (Be serious) from his new CD.

"I sing "I admire Christians and Muslims" in one song, but not because they have a belief in God, but because of the comfort that whatever they do to one another is sanctioned by that belief — even when it is horrific. There are those of us who do not have that comfort, and since we don't, we tend to act a bit more responsibly, because we are facing what's really human in our actions and in the consequences for them."
