I am a member of IMDBpro and have just recently tried finding loglines for films. In imdb all I can see is a tagline and a plot summary and outline.

For example, under plot outline for Gladiator (2000), it reads:
When a Roman general is betrayed and his family murdered by a corrupt prince, he comes to Rome as a gladiator to seek revenge.

Now this reads like a logline yet it falls under the plot outline section, is this what one would consider a log line?

the thing about loglines is that they are tools to get your script read by an agent or producer. so they're not really made public. they were something written in a query letter by a screenwriter. it would be nice if there was a great site that listed all the loglines that "made it" and those that got "passed" on and why. but really you only find samples.

if you really want to workshop your logline then i suggest you go here:

but keep in mind that it's not for the faint of heart and sensitive writer. the critiques can be very helpful and brutal at the same time. i suggest before you post your logline that you commit to commenting on atleast ten others to get acclimated to the process. i wish this was mandatory for all newbies posting their samples.

Thread's a year old, and if that's all you've got to say, don't post here.
