Hi Everyone,

I'm hoping to get together with everyone who might be in this region sometime over the weekend of May 9-11th. I'm going to be in Pittsburgh for the weekend. I'm not sure where or exactly when, but let me know if you'd be interesting in joining me. So, to recap:

May 9-11th
Pittsburgh Area
Awesome time with Sara :)

Who's in?

I would love to come to this. I guess it would depend on what kind of vehicle I end up with - dependable, or Not Dependable. Will have to see, but will try.

Naturally I have an extra motive, that is to show Patti and Sara that I'm an actual human and not something the cats dragged in from the side of the road. :D

ooh - maybe I could take the train and make a weekend adventure out of it. That's a thought too. Perhaps this is a doable thing after all.

Think of the celebrity mysteries we can solve. We discovered the True Secret of Tom Cruise in only ten minutes at a bakery, imagine the possibilities given a few hours.

thanks nerdsy. I wish I could. my mom is trying to get family together for Memorial day and I am not even sure I can manage that. If the weekends coincided it would be a greater possibility.

Apparently this place has it: http://www.bocktown.com/ But I've never been there, so no guarantees.

ETA: And their home page says they have Vanilla Java Porter... I might be sold!

It's looking like we're closing in on 10 people. We may need a bigger table at Chili's...

Who else is in? I know there are more of you that live near by! Come forward! Or face the wrath of Sara!!! :)

They are noisy, but no worse than your normal sports bar. The wings are great, so are the spuds. But yeah, probably not a good place to gather and chat. There are some independent coffeehouses that may work for 10 people... Most Starbucks here are rather small.

The problem with restaurants is that they want you out of there once you're done with the meal. They want turnover. So it's not enough time to just sit and chat.

Maybe a bit Panera bread where we can just sit and chill... for however long we want? (Plus we can get on wifi and log on AW at the same time. HAHAHAA -- I'm such a geek)

hmm.... I actually have a booksigning at the Century III Mall from 2-5 pm, so...

we'll see if I can make it.

of course, you can always come down THERE and buy my book!

2 Weeks to go! Who's in? Let's get a head count.

And what the hell are we doing?

Ray, is there a Panera that you know of that is convenient? Is the one on McKnight Road decent, near the Ross Park Mall? Is there one in Robinson now? I can't ever remember... I bet there's somewhere in Robinson that we could meet. It seems really central to me, but I might be wrong.

Is anyone coming, or am I going to be alone with my mouse :) Not that I mind or anything. He's a very cute mouse.

If memory serves, every time Ray goes into a Panera Bread, small children are allowed to run wild, making sure they disturb him. You may have to provide such a child.

Maryn, hoping you have a nice time (and wishing she could join you)

Somehow I missed this thread, Sara. I'll have to check--Mr. Shwebb might be working, in which case I'll need to get creative with the babysitting. Then again, he loves meeting AWers. So I might have to get creative, either way. Because I'm NOT bringing three little kids with me. As adorable as they are, there would be no visiting going on with me. Just kid wrangling.

The one on McKnight is fine, plus it's closed to the malls. :) I'm not sure about Robinson, but I think there may be. There are a few others, but I think they're all pretty good.

Sorry I couldn't make it. :(
