How do you feel about spiral bound books?

Don't lose any sleep worrying about them, if that's what you mean. What do you mean?

That would depend on what they're being used for.

Training manuals--Normal, that's what I expect.

Published original fiction or non-fiction--amatuerish and I wouldn't pay money for them.

Fan fiction--Normal, that's what I expect.

Like anything else in life--it depends on what you're talking about.

Horrible thought -- do you mean is it OK to submit spiral-bound manuscripts to agents and publishers?

I think they're evil. The spiral bound books are part of an international cabal conspiring to snag my sweaters.

Why do you ask? Are you self-publishing?

Otherwise, it's a publisher's decision. Some books are better as spiral bound. Some aren't.

i was thinking about self publishing.
i thought spiral bound might be better if images are included or for short books. (fiction etc)

In the Americas and Europe, it would look horribly amateurish unless it was a workbook or possibly a very short cookbook.

I haven't traveled much elsewhere in the world, so I can't comment on other countries' industry standards.

Hate them as notebooks because I write left handed.

Agreed. Except for some very specific types of books...I'd be put off.
