As a conservative Republican, I was highly offended by your post on President Bush last week.
This is probably part of your design criteria.
I can't really make a detailed and rational critique of the site, because my emotional response to it is too visceral and powerful. I reacted to your blog in much the same way I react to blogs maintained by avowed liberals, e.g. DailyKos; this is probably a Good Thing if you are, in fact, a liberal - or if your target audience is a liberal audience.
But if you expect to cultivate a significant conservative audience, you're doing a terrible job. ;)

Excellent! Given my target demo (leftie liberal types, as you surmised) I'm glad to see it seems to be positioned properly. ;) Seriously, thanks for the perspective, your comments mean it's "working as designed," as we say in the software-development industry.
Oddly enough, I have enormous gratitude for the phenomenon of George W. Bush, the same sort of gratitude that Immanuel Kant had for David Hume. Kant detested Hume's philosophy, but he was grateful to Hume because, as Kant famously put it, "he awakened me from my dogmatic slumbers." I was an engaged, committed liberal activist back in college, but over the years slid into the sort of bland, unreflective middle-of-the-road worldview that so many in my generation fell into. Bush, simply by virtue of his existence, gave me a wonderful and unexpected gift: he awakened me from my own dogmatic slumbers and gave me my true self back.

Glad I could be constructive. ;)

Why, so was I. Have you ever noticed that a great many conservatives used to be liberal, but virtually no liberals used to be conservative? It's almost as though age, wisdom, and maturity have something to do with it... :D
Seriously, your writing is good, and the material is engaging. Granted, it makes me froth at the mouth a bit, but with someone like me - that's exactly what you're trying to do. I won't say you should keep doing what you're doing, but you probably want to keep doing it.
