I decided to get some microwaveable rice, because I hadn't had it for ages. Now I remember why. Blech. I've covered it in salt, pepper and butter and now it's almost edible. Shoulda stuck to the plan.

If you're serious about being good - fruit or sorbets can be good alternatives. They're not chocolate, but sometimes they help the sweet craving. (Just be careful with stuff like grapes, which are high cal.)
I refuse to count calories, (had an eating disorder pretty much my whole life and don't want to go back there) but I am just trying to limit the amount of refined sugar I eat.
I also have to be easy on myself though, because I just quit smoking (day 8!!) and working out and I know that if I try to do to much I'll just get overwhelmed and depressed and it will all fall apart! So I ate some Baklava. Man it was good

Uuuuugh. I'm going to cook the other bag of that rice and throw it to the birdies in the garden. There's a particularly incompetent blue tit trying to build a nest out there just now. He needs all the help he can get.
I hate counting cals, too. Portion control for me instead of deprivation.

on the word count!!!!Never had baklava! Oh. Dear. It's lots of layers of really thin pastry (phyllo dough) with nuts, cinnamon, honey, lots of butter and sugar.

That's awesome! I didn't get any writing done today. I'm re-plotting a story right now, so most of my writing time the last few days is more like thinking time. Gotta take the kids to Kung Fu class now, so maybe I'll get more thinking done there. Although, probably not. I have way to much fun watching the class. I think I'm the only parent there who enjoys watching it. The rest of them either drop the kids off or spend the time talking to each other in the other room.
Oh, and here's some baklava for everyone
I spend a lot of time thinking, planning and strategising. A lot of the time this looks like I'm playing games. But the wheels are always turning.

For example, right now I am pondering whether or not to take the car, my Alice!, for one last drive, to go get some ice cream. (Ice cream for me, not for the car. She is in good shape with her half tank of gas and having had her rugs vacuumed yesterday.)
This may seem like the sheerest waste of time, both the pondering and the eventual going, and perhaps even a waste of money.
However, it is not so. I am working, I maintain, as long as I am awake and paying attention.
As well, it is a natural hiatus in the moving projects at the moment, so I believe I do need some ice cream.

I think ice cream is a major food group. Think of it as in investment in your future happiness.
Someone left one of the basement doors open and let in a troll. I'm betting it was Snape, but I'd not be surprised if it wasn't actually Hermoine. There is just something about her that makes me think she is working for He-who-shan't-be-blamed.
Everyone knows dragons hate trolls, and squish them on sight. And the troll will get bored eventually and go back to lurking under a bridge waiting for goats.

Oh no!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You don't know about Buttershots? It is a rich butterscotch-flavored Schnapps, and it mixes VERY well with Baileys. Yummmmm!
