I've seen a lot of vbulletin forums that now have the "thanks" button on them. Any plans for that here? I wish I could hit thanks a lot on here.

Just use rep-points. That little icon that looks like a set of scales? Click that and it gives the person a rep-point. You can leave them a message too.

It's what I do.

I like that there are no thanks button and display of thanks, and that the reps don't show. That way the rep is a thing between the repper and the rep'ee :D

I think it helps keep a place calm :)

We don't have any plans to add it. Use the Rep comment feature to say thank you.

How do you know how many rep points someone has?

There's a stunningly beautiful FAQ written by Medievalist about rep points here.

You can't see the exact number of rep points a user has, but:
There's an invisible text string that lists "levels" associated with the total number of points. If you position your cursor just under the P in the Posts count on the left of any post, you'll see some "tool tip" text with a descriptive phrase.

"Levels" are in the FAQ.

Oh that's awesome! I will check that out and use when necessary. (I was also wondering about the Thanks button.)

So...thanks! =)

I must say, I'm in favor of the privacy of rep points. So thanks, AW. For whatever reason, I feel that's in line with the spirit of the forums.

If you hover your mouse pointer under the "P" in the post counts of anyone's post, it'll display a comment regarding their reputation. It's neat.
