A funny thing happened when I was creating Volume II of this thread: I deleted the original discussion by mistake, the whole dang thing, all twenty-two thousand and some-odd of the original thread.

I started freaking out. All that was left were the first and second posts I'd copied over to this discussion. Everything else in between was gone. So like I usually do in situations where I really screw up is, I took a deep breath, calmed myself down, then rushed to the fridge to pour another huge glass of wine.

That seemed to do the trick. I realized suddenly that all I needed to do was to hit the back button to undo my flub and restore the original thread.

Phew. That was a close call all right. Good thing I didn't log off right after creating Volume II or poor Mac or an Admin would've been left with cleaning up after my mess.

Of course not. It was the second glass that got me into trouble, the one I had polished off just before my troubles started.

Luckily, that third round helped me to straighten everything out.
