I'm aware of the rule that in dialogue a question mark replaces the comma before a tag. Then, I know that I can use italics and tags to show internal thought. But when these factors all came together today, I realized I was lost. This is rough draft material, so I'm mainly interested in the concept of how to punctuate/itlaicize or not the following, but if anyone has a crafty way to avoid the whole "i though" issue, I'm all ears.
Thanks!:
After a particularly uninspired solo, I earn questioning glances from my bandmates. Me? I think, dismissing them with a shrug. I’m not even supposed to be here.
